The mission of Minnesota Alliance With Youth is “to work in partnership with youth to ensure that ALL young people have equitable educational opportunities that foster their individual assets, honor their voices, and prepare them to reach their goals.” The Alliance is a leading convener, collaborator and capacity-builder for youth development, working with and for youth to foster cross-sector collaborations to ensure that all young people have access to the “Five Promises.” Our vision is a Minnesota that supports young people in building their own present and future. In order to ensure all youth achieve success in school, work, and life, we focus on the following strategic goals: Challenge existing systems to integrate youth voice; Promote policies that support equitable access to education; and Develop strong systems of engagement and collaboration.

Member Duties : The 2019-20 Youth Voice and Program VISTA will increase accessibility to training curriculum and resources for supporting youth led movements with the goal of closing the achievement gap and amplifying youth voice, particularly young people of color and low-income youth. The VISTA will create and update centralized systems for programmatic initiatives, such as the development of an online training hub for resources; develop curriculum, training, and documentation of materials on youth led leadership for use by Alliance programs, specifically Youth Day at the Capitol and the Youth Educational Leadership Summit; and create and update tools and programs to strengthen and advance the Alliance network and alumni engagement.
