Rural Action Program Support VISTA
 
 
 
The Rural Action Program Support VISTA will build the capacity of a passionate, impactful organization with a long history of powerful Asset Based Community Development in Appalachian Ohio. Rural Action VISTA benefits include: --An annual living allowance of $12,311 --A Segal Education Award of $6,095 --An optional cash award of $1,800 in lieu of the Segal Education Award --1 full year of non-competitive status for Federal jobs after term completion --Healthcare --Mileage reimbursement for service-related travel --Experience and training in nonprofit management, sustainable sectors, environmental restoration, community development, community organizing, and Appalachian culture --Networking and teambuilding with regional leaders and passionate National Service members --Grant writing experience Rural Action VISTA members serve in rural communities, so access to reliable transportation is a must. Member Duties : This VISTA will identify assets, map needs, and assess gaps in services in the region. This VISTA will be tasked with three overarching objectives: to build the capacity of Rural Action to effectively manage new and growing programs, to build Rural Action’s fund development capacity, and to develop future partners to increase the reach and impact of Rural Action’s programs. As the Program Support VISTA, you will be expected to grow Rural Action’s volunteer leader base and leverage funds from multiple sources to further Rural Action’s mission: to build a more just economy by developing the region’s assets in environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable ways.
