Summer position from June 3 through August 10, 2019. Peace Connections seeks an energetic, self-motivated, and organized individual to help coordinate our new Summer Enrichment Activities for Kids (SEAK 2.0) program in Harvey County. Peace Connections is a local nonprofit located in the Red Door Community Partnership at 209 S. Pine Street in Newton, Kansas. Since 1983, Peace Connections has brought individuals, families, and organizations together to create a thriving community sustained by peace and social justice. Peace Connections’ Summer Enrichment Activities for Kids (SEAK) program is being revamped to broaden in scope and impact. Through collaborative efforts with the local Summer Food Program, SEAK 2.0 seeks to combat hunger and food insecurity among children, youth, and adults in our community; as well as increase positive relationships and community support through consistent volunteer support and activities. The Summer Enrichment VISTA Coordinator will help build capacity, assess impact, and develop programming for Peace Connections’ new SEAK 2.0 program through coordination, scheduling, and documentation. The SEAK 2.0 program runs from June 10-July 19, 2019. Peace Connections provides a comfortable and flexible work environment where resources and agency networking happen regularly.

Member Duties : Summer position from June 3 through August 10, 2019. The Summer Enrichment VISTA Coordinator will become oriented with the SEAK 2.0 program, partners, and volunteers. The Summer Enrichment VISTA Coordinator will identify and schedule weekly activities for SEAK 2.0 programing, develop satisfaction surveys that also collect demographic information, and identify/implement the most efficient way to distribute and collect surveys. The Summer Enrichment VISTA Coordinator will then input and assess data from surveys collected between June 10-July 19, 2019. The Summer Enrichment VISTA Coordinator will create a manual to replicate all necessary aspects of the SEAK 2.0 program for future locations. This manual will include a scheduling calendar and plan for future SEAK projects, a list of local partner agencies/organizations, and a list of local churches, groups, and volunteers.
