PHENND Fellows - Nonprofit - District 1199c Training Fund

District 1199c is the National Union of Hospital & Health Care Employees (NUHHCE) whose training courses focuses on students of all ages and diverse backgrounds. The District 1199C has a Training & Upgrading Fund whose mission is to: (1) provide access to career pathways in healthcare and human services for incumbent workers and job seekers through education, training and work-based learning; (2) build the capacity of the Delaware Valley's healthcare industry to create a highly-skilled workforce through on-the-job training opportunities and the development of an education pipeline that aligns with career ladder steps. PHENND Fellows is a program that fosters young non-profit leaders who seek to expand the infrastructure for community partnership development across Philadelphia. Through its Nonprofit Track, it places passionate and talented college graduates at local non-profits as AmeriCorps VISTA members. This track has a three-fold mission: (1) Support local nonprofits fighting poverty across a wide range of issues, (2) Train and retain local talent to stay and work in Philadelphia, and (3) Develop the next generation of nonprofit leaders. During the 2019-2020 program year, 35 PHENND Fellows will actively build capacity in local organizations and participate in extensive professional development as a cohort. This program is run by PHENND (The Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development), a 30-year-old consortium of over 25 colleges and universities in the Greater Philadelphia region. The consortium actively seeks to revitalize local communities and promote civic responsibility through service learning among the region's higher education institutions. If you want to help build sustainable solutions in Philadelphia, please apply.

Member Duties : The PHENND Fellow will support Training Fund staff in implementing and evaluating database effectiveness. Data will be used to inform data-driven decisions about the services, supports and programming the Fund makes available to thousands of students each year. They will refine an intake/enrollment/referral process for Training Fund students and those referred to partners; and they will help build into this and other systems evaluative processes and tools to help students make enrollment decisions that position them for success in education, training and the labor market. In this second year, the Fellow will work with staff and faculty to iteratively pilot, implement, evaluate and redesign/re-implement an intake process that uses the database to ensure students are connected to the programs and supportive services that will best position them for short, medium and long term success in their career pathway of choice.
