Literacy KC: Amethyst Place Summer Associate
 
 
 
Amethyst Place seeks to support women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction and their children by providing safe, drug-free housing and individualized services to promote healthy families. Amethyst Place helps families overcome significant trauma and develop essential life skills, ultimately supporting their successful transition to drug-free, independent housing and community living. Amethyst Place is a sub-site of the Literacy KC VISTA Program. The Literacy KC VISTA Program seeks to address illiteracy through a concentration on traditional literacy as well as health literacy, financial literacy, and digital literacy. The VISTA members and organizations that participate in the Literacy KC VISTA Program take a holistic, collaborative approach to literacy, building the organizations’ capacity to serve their clients, and addressing poverty in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Member Duties : The Summer Associate will support Amethyst families by assisting with the organization and management of the organization's pantry and donation inventory, as well as by assisting with childcare during evening classes.
