PHENND Fellows - Nonprofit Track - SEAMAAC

PHENND (The Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development) is a 30-year-old consortium of over 25 colleges and universities in the Greater Philadelphia region. The consortium actively seeks to revitalize local communities and promote civic responsibility through service learning among the region's higher education institutions. In 2017 PHENND adopted the Philly Fellows and have continued to foster young non-profit leaders who seek to expand the infrastructure for community partnership development across Philadelphia. The Non-Profit Tract actively builds capacity through a variety of activities in local organizations. If you want to help build sustainable solutions in Philadelphia, apply below. SEAMAAC stands as one of the oldest and largest refugee-founded agencies in the Philadelphia region, working within one of the most diverse communities in the City. SEAMAAC’s three main areas of work are Health & Social Services, Education , and Community Development. Since 1984, SEAMAAC has brought crucially needed support to tens of thousands of families in the Greater Philadelphia area. The main focus of the work is in the Community Development Department targeting South Philadelphia East of Broad Street. SEAMAAC’s Mifflin Square Park redevelopment and Neighborhood Planning is building community power and prosperity by organizing the community to plan and advocate for the physical and operational changes needed for Mifflin Square Park, the largest green space in an underserved neighborhood. Within Mifflin Square Park, SEAMAAC’s Vendor Village Program aims to support local entrepreneurs and create greater engagement and programming in the Park. The goal is to create a stronger local economy within our diverse community that also connects to the adjacent South 7th Street Commercial Corridor. If you want to help build sustainable solutions in Philadelphia, please apply.
