United Way of Tarrant County Economic Mobility VISTA

United Way of Tarrant County (UWTC) has worked to improve the lives of those in our communities since 1922. Through a systems change approach, we bring together individuals, groups, donors and service providers to help solve some of the toughest social issues affecting Tarrant County. It is through this method that UWTC not only manages social issues, but strives to solve them for entire populations. As an AmeriCorps VISTA with United Way of Tarrant County, you will have the opportunity to affect change that can impact an entire generation and community. VISTA will build capacity and expand programming of the United Way of Tarrant County Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, Financial Empowerment centers and the Focus Card pilot initiative. Each program specifically targets the compound challenges residents face, including inter generational poverty which is the root of many chronic issues. United Way of Tarrant County is filled with team members who are skilled and passionate, which manifest into their work and the workplace. If you enjoy collaborating and working with motivated individuals and work groups that are focused on making our county a better place, then United Way of Tarrant County looks forward to you joining our team. A successful VISTA candidate is community minded, flexible, self-motivated, detail -oriented and energized. Central to our beliefs, we know it is time to measure results not by the number of people we help, but by the number of people who no longer need help. United Way of Tarrant County is committed to igniting real change in our community. Together with your help, we can work towards improving our communication gaps, collaboration and coordination among social service organizations, government entities and the private sector for an organization and community that tackles inter-generational poverty head on.
