Literacy Minnesota - Access Coordinator (LitMN)

Literacy Minnesota recruits and supports volunteers and learners in adult literacy programs across the state. These programs offer free classes for new immigrants and refugees, as well as life-long Minnesotans, who are learning English, reading, math or computer skills or studying for the GED. Each year we recruit and place over 500 new volunteers, train 3,500 volunteers and help connect 14,000 adult learners with programs throughout Minnesota. We are seeking a highly motivated and dependable Literacy Leader to join our dynamic and fast-paced outreach and training team to develop initiatives in universal design and accessibility to support inclusion of learners and volunteers with disabilities at Adult Basic Education (ABE) sites, both in-person and remotely. As a team member, you will work alongside and learn from leaders in the adult literacy field and build marketing, communications and public relations skills while helping Literacy Minnesota achieve its goal of ensuring accessible, inclusive and equitable learning and working environments for everyone to access and get involved with literacy. Flexible schedule with some evenings and weekends. Basic knowledge of or experience with access and equity preferred. This position will be working directly with the disability and Adult Basic Education communities, so we strongly encourage applications from people with disabilities, people of color, indigenous peoples, immigrants and refugees, and LBGTQIA individuals. *Position is part of the Literacy Leadership AmeriCorps VISTA program of Literacy Minnesota (LitMN), which places about 20 AmeriCorps VISTA members with nonprofits, public agencies and Tribal Nations located in MN and WI to build their capacity to improve literacy for children, youth, adults or families. Literacy Minnesota fosters an organizational culture that is welcoming and inclusive to all.
