San Antonio Promise Zone Economic Development VISTA
 
 
 
The goal of this effort is to ensure that everyone has equal access to opportunity and that the place you are born does not determine your destiny. The Eastside San Antonio Promise Zone is focused on the following six goals: Job creation and training; Increase economic activity; Improve educational opportunities and increased family stability; Leverage private investment; Reduce serious and violent crime; Reduce poverty and increase the supply of affordable housing.

Member Duties : Assist with the development and implementation of new physical and virtual small business/nonprofit hubs that serve San Antonio Promise Zone employers adversely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Develop an assessment tool to collect pertinent information from businesses in order to assess their needs, vulnerabilities, and eligibility for emergency loans, forgivable grants, and other COVID-19 pandemic aid. Design service delivery to connect aid to employers. Work with community engagement and marketing teams to recruit and enroll employers to participate in these services. Provide education and training services to employers and/or recruit and train volunteers or members of partner organizations to provide services. Depending on the applicant's skillset and experience, applicant may alternatively focus on cyber security assessments, digital security protocols, training and technology deployment and adoption.
