Standpoint-Communications & Sustainability Specialist [MCN]
 
 
 
Standpoint, formerly the Battered Women’s Legal Advocacy Project, is a statewide, non-profit whose mission is to promote justice for domestic and sexual violence victims. Standpoint attorneys and advocates provide legal advice, legal advocacy, support and safety planning to victims on a daily basis. We also provide support and training to advocates and attorneys who serve victims within their own rural or metro communities. Standpoint intentionally focus on communities who have historically been underserved and continually works to expand on the agency’s ability to serve ALL victims of domestic and sexual violence.

Member Duties : Communications Objectives: Organize trainings, perform outreach, and build capacity for the youth labor trafficking project; create/update/improve communication channels; and maintain relationships with culturally specific organizations. Activities include but are not limited to: Organize trainings for youth labor trafficking project; Maintain and improve Standpoint’s communication plan; Expand Standpoint’s contact lists; Maintain a robust internet and social media presence for Standpoint; Attend community meetings/events to stay current with local activities. Sustainability Objectives: Create sustainability plans for social media and communication activities to ensure such activities can be carried out by Standpoint in future years. Activities including but are not limited to: Develop fundraising material for Standpoint’s annual event; Develop a grant and fundraising plan and draft grant proposals; Review and implement strategies consistent with the fundraising plan.
