Outreach and Social Media, Latino Affairs Commission

The Latino Affairs Commission is a state agency mandated to advise the Governor and Legislature on issues impacting Latinos, to connect Latinos and serving organizations and to build capacity and leadership opportunities. This project seeks to increase the presence, recognition and impact of the Latino Affairs Commission as it serves Hispanic Ohioans by implementing a marketing/branding strategy, enhancing our social media presence, increasing the delivery and exchange of information for and about Latinos, and growing the audience for our statewide events and initiatives. As a result, better trained leaders and organizations will provide higher quality social services to assist Latinos in improving their quality of life and decrease poverty among the Hispanic community. Latinos drive daily usage on social media platforms and connectivity nationally, which presents an excellent opportunity to continue to implement a marketing and branding strategy to increase and improve presence of the commission to its target audiences (Latinos, government and the public.) In this role, the Outreach and Social Media Coordinator will assist in communications and the implementation of our marketing strategy, manage the organization’s website and social media platforms, assist in planning and marketing of events/initiatives including Hispanic Impact Campaign, Latino Health and Education summits, Hispanic Heritage Month, and others. The Outreach and Social Media Coordinator also identifies and implements cost effective technologies that can be used to deliver trainings, webinars, hangouts and streaming of events to increase capacity building opportunities for Latino leaders.
