College Health Corps, Partners for Affordable Housing

Celebrating our 35th year, our agency addresses housing and other barriers which impact the ability to live healthy and happy lives. We prioritize women and families and work collaboratively with many other agencies to provide meaningful solutions. Our programs include emergency residential shelter providing safe housing and supportive services for up to 90 days, transitional housing with supportive services and financial assistance for up to 24 months, 32 permanent housing units, Free Store which is open to the community, and we are also working to open a new emergency shelter in a neighboring city this summer. The VISTA will fill our need to develop volunteer and outreach programming. The VISTA will gain valuable experience with the variety of programs and activities that we have, in working with our partner agencies, exploring opportunities for growth or change, and working with our team to strengthen our infrastructure and plan for our future. Creating awareness has been a considerable focus in the past year and envision that the VISTA will play an important role in our outreach plan, which is tied to our developing communications plan. Join our team of passionate individuals and make a difference! ---This project is part of the College Health Corps (CHC) VISTA Program, operated by Minnesota Campus Compact. The CHC increases low-income individuals’ access to health care, health education, food, and basic needs through capacity building projects, including partnerships between higher education and community based organizations. Professional development focuses on health equity, the social determinants of health, and effective partnership development. --- ***Please also send cover letter and resume to supervisor. Interviews will occur on a rolling basis. Preference given to candidates who apply early.***
