Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC) Specialist
The Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities (OACBHA) is the statewide organization that represents the interests of Ohio’s county Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health (ADAMH) Boards. As the Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care Specialist (ROSC), you will be working with the OACBHA team to support our Boards’ vision of moving Ohio’s mental health and addiction services system from focusing on acute care to recovery management. As Ohio takes steps to combat the opioid epidemic, it is critical that we invest in systems of care that effectively address the full range of substance use problems within communities. The local Recovery-Oriented Systems of Care support all individuals, families and communities in getting healthy, being healthy, and staying healthy. A Recovery-Oriented System of Care is built upon a framework in which Ohio’s ADAMH Boards locally manage the system of care as the hub for their communities. As Boards continue to drive ROSC in their communities, they are placing their primary focus on the individuals in need of recovery services and their families, building on their strengths, and incorporating a coordinated and collaborative approach across the community. The foundation of Ohio’s Recovery-Oriented System of Care is that locally managed continuums of care are designed to provide prevention, treatment, and support services to support and educate communities and to help individuals and families impacted by mental illness and addiction achieve and sustain long-term recovery, thus strengthening the entire community.
