2019-2020 Centro Hispano Community Engagement VISTA

In the midst of one of the most cultural diverse neighborhoods in Madison, you will find Centro Hispano, one of the largest non-profits serving the ever changing Latino community for more than 30 years. Centro's goal is to improve the quality of life for Latinos and others living in Dane County by empowering youth, strengthening families, and engaging the community. This VISTA will support improved community health by providing crucial capacity building for Centro Hispano’s Wellness and community engagement programs. One of the main functions of Centro Hispano’s community engagement efforts is to utilize the community’s human capital to improve and develop Centro’s existing capacity. This can be accomplished through the reporting and analysis of relevant community issues, development of enhanced community participation strategies, engagement in aiding programming logistics, and the implementation of community input for all Centro Hispano programs. One of the key areas in which Centro Hispano engages the community is through our Signature and community events The VISTA will work in partnership with the Community Engagement Manager to engage community in the aforementioned areas and ensure the community is involved at all levels of Centro Hispano programming and development. In collaboration with the community and the Community Engagement Manager, the VISTA will plan and implement Centro Hispano’s Signature and community events.
