Expanding Economic Opportunities in East St. Louis
 
 
 
The City of East St. Louis works to meet the changing health, welfare, and safety needs of residents through the administration of programs and services. We are seeking a Grant Resource Coordinator VISTA to help increase the coordination of grant funding streams for city programs and services. Almost half of the City's residents live in poverty and the median household income is well below the national average. The VISTA will work to help lift the community out of poverty. The Grant Resource Coordinator VISTA will contribute to a team that is dedicated to rebuilding the City of Champions. This person will help create a system to secure and sustain financial support to maximize the operation of city services and programs related to community and economic development. Responsibilities will include identifying funding gaps; researching best practices; increasing awareness of available grant opportunities for city departments; writing, editing, and submitting grant proposals; collecting organizing and managing grant data; and communicating funding needs to applicable grantors.

Member Duties : The VISTA will research, identify, and pursue grant funding opportunities that are applicable to the City of East St. Louis’ identified priority areas for funding and technical assistance on community and economic development and related projects that seek to move people out of poverty. The VISTA will build capacity by assisting with the coordination of grants for all major departments within the city administration.
