ShareCorps-SFC-Community Engagement and Fund Development

Summit Food Coalition's mission is to collectively build the framework for a just, sustainable, and vibrant local food system. We do this through four focus areas: Access: We provide support to organizations and people seeking to increase access to nutritious and local food in our communities. Advocacy: We advocate for policies that support access to nutritious local food, sustainable land use, and food as a means of economic development. Education: We educate partners, stakeholders, and community members on emerging issues, opportunities, and active local work. Entrepreneurship: We support local food entrepreneurs and encourage opportunities to aid in their success. Much of our work intersects with individuals facing food insecurity and those organizations who serve them, including projects such as Produce Perks which offers nutrition incentives for SNAP customers at farmers' markets and retail outlets to increase their ability to purchase fresh, local fruits and vegetables.
