ShareCorps - Family Promise - Program Developer

Family Promise of Butler County (FPBC) is an affiliate of the national Family Promise. FPBC works with homeless children and families to help them overcome the barriers to self sufficiency. FPBC provides temporary housing and meals through a network of congregations and provides a location for families to stay during the day where they can shower, do laundry, keep their possessions and get assistance with developing and implementing a plan of self sufficiency. The VISTA member will be imperative to helping this young organization expand services and its impact. FP is a unique organization in that most of the work is completed by volunteers and for the period of time families are with the organization all their basic needs are provided. FPBC can serve up to 14 people or 5 families at any one time and families may stay up to 3 months if they are progressing in their plan.
