ShareCorps- Akron-Canton Regional FB- Program Innovation
 
 
 
The mission of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is to lead a collaborative network that empowers people to experience healthy and hunger-free lives. We distribute food to feed people and we advocate, engage and convene our community in the fight to end hunger. The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank Foodbank provides food and other essential items to member agencies in eight Northeast Ohio counties: Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas and Wayne. These network partners operate 500 food pantries, hot meal sites, shelters and other hunger-relief programs in the neighborhoods and communities where people need food. The Foodbank envisions a thriving community free of hunger. By 2025 the Foodbank and our network, in collaboration with other charitable and governmental partners, will provide access to 41 million meals, meeting the need in our service area and providing enough food for everyone struggling with hunger.

Member Duties : The Program Innovations Coordinator will support two emerging programs of the Foodbank - the Voices program and the Hunger + Health initiative. Both programs are designed to reduce barriers and increase access to food among special populations. The VISTA will engage community stakeholders - including program leaders, volunteers, health care systems, and food insecure individuals - in the planning, design, and evaluation of the program. The VISTA will support data analysis efforts, provide support to partners engaging in the work, and seek opportunities for continuous improvement in program operations. The candidate should be self-motivated, organized, flexible, and be able to work collaboratively in a team with internal and external stakeholders.
