MBK Ohio - VISTA Leader

Join Ohio’s first-ever statewide My Brother’s Keeper Network. MBK Ohio is a statewide coalition of communities and leaders dedicated to improving outcomes for boys and young men and creating opportunities for all of Ohio’s youth. This VISTA project will seek to improve the effectiveness of statewide programmatic coordination in education and workforce development for low income youth and their families in the following MBK Ohio chapter communities: Canton, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Lima, Lincoln Heights, Mansfield, Springfield, Summit County, Toledo, and Youngstown. As a VISTA leader, you will regularly communicate with VISTA members and MBK community leaders across Ohio to ensure that local efforts to build the capacity to serve marginalized youth and their families are effective. To accomplish these goals, the VISTA leader will engage in project management, media engagement, and data analysis. These activities will lead to the development of statewide reports, streamlined progress monitoring, and more consistent reporting of youth outcomes. VISTA leaders will also help MBK Ohio document the progress and outcomes of the Youth Leadership Coalition (YLC). The YLC is a new effort aimed to provide young people the opportunity to enroll in a statewide peer network and to have a platform to discuss issues most relevant to their local community. VISTA leaders will work with MBK Ohio and other VISTA members to track the outcomes of participants enrolled in the YLC to ensure that these efforts create tangible economic and educational opportunities for youth across Ohio.
