Opiate Engagement Specialist

The Delaware-Morrow Mental Health and Recovery Services Board is the public agency located in downtown Delaware, Ohio that provides planning, funding and evaluation of behavioral health services in our two-county area. We help to provide funding for programs that work with individuals who have mental illness and/or addiction. We are the Opiate Hub designee in our community as assigned by the Ohio legislature. Our goal is to strengthen our county and community efforts to combat the opiate epidemic. We need a strong collaborator to engage in community-based efforts aimed at “Changing the Message” and reducing stigma with regards to the addiction crisis. The ideal candidate will educate and inform our community regarding prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery supports available in our system. The person will accomplish this with a focus on developing and organizing community outreach efforts, developing educational materials to be disseminated to members of the community, and working with board staff and consultants to develop and help maintain our opiate related messaging for various social media platforms, newsletters, as well as the board website. This person will be active in the community and engage multiple partners – while tracking the opiate work being done. Participation with local coalitions such as Drug Free Delaware and Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention is necessary.
