Working In Neighborhoods 2020 VISTA

Working In Neighborhoods’ (WIN) “empowers people to make informed choices for themselves and their neighborhoods through community building, home ownership, and economic learning.” Since 1978, WIN has worked to build sustainable communities on a foundation community leadership. We believe that residents, especially in communities that have been dis-invested and underserved, must have a say in the decision-making process that shapes future development in their neighborhood. WIN’s VISTA member will help the Beekman St. Corridor Coalition implement their resident-led redevelopment strategy to reverse a pattern of chronic disinvestment and neglect in the community. The VISTA’s role will include partnership development, research, and community outreach to engage neighborhood employers and business owners in ongoing community and economic development efforts.
