Extended Housing, Inc. Affordable Housing VISTA

This project will develop a marketing plan, develop a volunteer program, and grow Extended Housing, Inc.’s network of community partners, thereby contributing to our goal of providing permanent supportive housing for individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. For the marketing part of the project, we will develop marketing strategies that incorporate social, digital, and print media to increase awareness of Extended Housing, Inc. and grow the engagement and number of our stakeholders. This will be completed in coordination with the overall public relations, development, and community engagement strategies of our agency. The volunteer program part of the project will involve analyzing our current, informal volunteer program to create a more formal program. This will increase the number of our volunteers, as well as improve the impact and efficacy of the Extended Housing, Inc. volunteer program. Finally, the project will grow our network of community partners. Extended Housing, Inc. already has strong relationships with many individuals and organizations in our Lake County community. There is still a significant opportunity, however, for the growth and strengthening of our network with key individuals and organizations in our area. Growth in this area will support our fundraising/development efforts, as well as grow our pool of potential volunteers.

Member Duties : Together with Extended Housing, Inc.’s dynamic and enthusiastic director of development and community engagement, the VISTA Member will work to lay a foundation that will improve the agency’s capacity to provide housing to individuals with severe mental illness in Lake County, Ohio. During their time with Extended Housing, Inc., our VISTA Member will develop a marketing plan for Extended Housing, Inc. that leverages existing assets, including social, digital, and print media, to raise awareness of the agency and the life-changing work it does. The VISTA Member will also work with EHI staff to develop its volunteer program and grow its network of community partners. This is an exciting opportunity to play a significant role by creating programs, developing strategies, and building relationships that will foster the long-term success of an organization that has already had an incredible impact on our community.
