County Corp Affordable Housing VISTA

County Corp has demonstrated capacity to construct new and rehab existing affordable housing properties to benefit residents of the Greater Miami Valley area. We have also demonstrated our ability to meet residents where they are to provide resources to make emergency repairs for homeowners and provide opportunities for interior and exterior accessibility modifications. These activities help create affordable housing for cost burdened renters, opportunities to purchase homes for Low to Moderate Income households and to allow homeowners to age-in-place by improving their existing housing. Our VISTA will assist with neighborhood input into the work we do by surveying residents, holding community charrettes, meeting with and helping to organize neighborhood groups, and helping County Corp market our program specifically to our residents. This help us refine our programming to best meet the needs of our residents. Helping County Corp to further our mission of providing affordable housing opportunities will assist households in combatting poverty in the following ways: All of the units we rehab or construct are built to meet or exceed energy star standards. This results in lower utility costs for our residents. This in turn provides our residents with more discretionary income to purchase food, save for emergencies, etc. Our homes also support healthy living and our emergency repair program helps keep homes decent and safe and provides opportunities for residents to age-in-place, thereby improving their quality of life.
