Campus District Access Development VISTA

Our VISTA project is to build capacity through program development, marketing, and event support. The project has three focus areas: sustainable event production, public art, and trauma informed care. Sustainable Event Production It is extremely important to us that our programs and events are sustainable, that they can easily be replicated by new staff while remaining consistent. The VISTA will be responsible for: 1)Designing four, quarterly “Membership Mixers” for the Campus District community members. This includes determining location, activity, food, and marketing of the events. 2)Develop an events handbook so staff can replicate these mixers with ease. 3)Assist the Campus District team with the creation of a Food Truck event at East 22nd Street. East 22nd Street is a vital corridor in the District. The intention of the event is to encourage neighborhood residents and employees alike to enjoy food, music, activities, and connection. The area itself is lacking food options and gathering spaces. Public Art In 2022 Campus District intends to create a “Mural Matching Program”, a program designed to encourage public art creation in the neighborhood. The VISTA will be responsible for: 1)Working with the CDI team to develop the logistics of the program including application development, application review, and artist selection. 2)Develop a Mural Matching Program handbook and webpage for staff and applicants to access. Trauma Informed Care Campus District has piloted a community trauma training series called Resilience in Action. One of the intended outcomes of this pilot program is to develop a Trauma Informed Advisory Committee that will guide Campus District as it expands its trauma informed practices. The VISTA will be responsible for: 1) Administrative duties related to the Advisory Committee including e-mail communications and taking the minutes. 2) Put the Advisory Committee’s recommendations into action
