The Texas Healthy Adolescent Initiative is a community-based initiative located in six Texas communities. Seasons of Change is the only grassroots organization chosen to participate in this 5-year pilot program. The goals of the Texas Healthy Adolescent Initiative are to: 1) build a comprehensive local youth system to improve the health and well-being of youth so that all young people can reach their full potential, 2) improve the overall health and well-being of Texas adolescents and build communities with supportive and sustainable environments that promote positive youth development, and 3) address teen pregnancy prevention through a systems approach by leveraging local partnerships and resources to collectively influence behaviors in young people that contribute to and impact adolescent childbearing using a positive youth development framework.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will research, test, and identify an appropriate database management system to be used for donation and volunteer management. The VISTA will also research, identify and document best practices for the Development/Fundraising aspect of the organization, assist in the implementation of a number of small fundraisers specific to the assets4youth and resources4nonprofits programs, and assist in the development of social and print media content related to the fundraising efforts of the organization. Last, the VISTA will help develop an Advisory Report as well as assist in the production of the organization’s annual report and presentations to both the Board of Directors and the community at large.
