Habitat for Humanity's vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Nearly 20% of WI residents pay more than 50% of their family income for housing. The 37 WI affiliates are addressing the need for affordable housing by partnering with families to build, rehab or repair homes. The HFH WI VISTA program’s goal is to develop sustainable home repair programs to preserve housing and help more families. With passion, commitment, and hard work, our VISTAs help affiliates bring individuals & communities out of poverty. Habitat for Humanity Serving Green Lake, Marquette & Waushara Counties is headquartered in quaint Wautoma, WI. Known as the "Christmas tree capital of the world," Wautoma is centrally located in the heart of Wisconsin. HFHGLMW’s 2020 Strategic Plan strives to serve more people than ever before by building and repairing decent and affordable housing. HFH serving Green Lake, Marquette & Waushara Counties broke ground on its 25th home in November 2018.

Member Duties : As the Summer Home Repairs VISTA, you will create fund development strategies to support the new Home Repairs Program. Activities include: 1) Research local funding opportunities. 2) Develop a fundraising calendar. 3) Create any systems needed to track opportunities, applications submitted, funds received, etc. 4) Work with staff and board to identify other strategies – events, online campaigns, etc. 5) Follow up with all leads. Other projects - such as volunteer recruitment or hands-on construction - may be available depending on the VISTA's skills and interests **Interviews are done on a rolling basis. Please submit an application as soon as possible to ensure consideration. Selection may be made before the deadline date posted.**
 
Program Benefits : Living Allowance ,  Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend ,  $50/month housing ,  Training ,  Education award upon successful completion of service .
