2019 Yes Network Summer Meal & Education VSA Project - IF
 
 
 
The Yes Network is dedicated to creating vibrant, loving, prosperous neighborhoods through its presence and engagement with children and families in the places where they live. Established in 2011, these programs provide summer meals for those 18 and younger, outdoor games, enrichment activities, and the arts. If you are considering a career in elementary education, art education, music, theater, dance, counseling, social work, or child and family studies, this position is for you! It will provide a practical, meaningful experience to build your resume. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team working with diverse, under-resourced neighborhoods in the Saint Cloud region. Activity leaders will be focused on engaging kids ages 6-12 in summer fun in their own neighborhoods. The participating children and families are experiencing poverty-related barriers to accessing community programs. Your job is to help these great kids have their most memorable summer yet!

Member Duties : The VISTA Summer Associates (VSA) meet regularly as a team to plan and evaluate their work. Some will focus primarily on the outdoor games while others are engaged in the art activities. All will: - Create a fun, welcoming and supportive atmosphere. - Lead new and exciting creative experiences for kids. - Imbed social and emotional development within activities. - Manage and maintain art materials and/or games equipment. - Responsible for set-up and clean-up. - Assist with family picnic and art exhibit events. - Help in serving meals and organizing youth assistants.
