Launched in 2001, TechPoint Foundation for Youth ensures that Indiana’s underserved K-12 students have access to experiential STEM learning opportunities that inspire the pursuit of STEM careers. We connect industry, ideas, investments, and individuals to create moment of discovery for our students by breaking down barriers to help schools and community centers launch robotics teams, coding clubs, math teams, and other hands-on STEM programs. Our amazing VISTAs will work within a small, entrepreneurial team helping to facilitate our statewide initiatives that increase access to experiential science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs for low-income students. We’re seeking talented, aspiring leaders with strong management and communication skills to organize, support, grow, and evaluate our high impact initiatives. VISTA members will work with a highly collaborative team throughout their term of service and will receive continuous professional development opportunities. Member Duties : This VISTA member will coordinate programs efforts impacting students throughout Indiana via the CoderDojo Indiana program. He or she will lead efforts to recruit and onboard new community partners and support program expansion into five workforce development regions to provide free computer science education to minority & low-income student populations. This VISTA will also continue the work of developing and implementing new volunteer training opportunities for our 100+ volunteers around state. He or she will manage the deployment and collection of surveys & evaluation methods that will allow the Foundation to show impact numbers as they relate to targeted underrepresented populations. Lastly, this VISTA will provide communications support and work with a team to develop a sustainability plan for the CoderDojo Indiana program. A detail-oriented person who excels in email and in-person communication & can multitask while working within a team environment will excel in this role.
