Habitat for Humanity's vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Nearly 20% of WI residents pay more than 50% of their family income for housing. The 37 WI affiliates are addressing the need for affordable housing by partnering with families to build, rehab or repair homes. The HFHWI VISTA program’s goal is to develop sustainable home repair programs to preserve housing and help more families. With passion, commitment, and hard work, our VISTAs help affiliates bring individuals & communities out of poverty. Headquarters in Wautoma, WI, Habitat for Humanity serves Green Lake, Marquette & Waushara Counties. Known as the "Christmas tree capital of the world", Wautoma sits in Waushara County which is centrally located in the heart of Wisconsin. Enjoy outdoor activities throughout the year with kayaking and canoeing during the summer to snowshoeing and skiing during the winter. HFHGLMW’s 2020 Strategic Plan strives to serve more people than ever before by building and repairing decent and affordable housing. HFH serving Green Lake, Marquette & Waushara Counties broke ground on its 25th home in November 2018.

Member Duties : As a Home Repairs VISTA, you will develop sustainable home repair programs to preserve housing and help Habitat for Humanity serving Green Lake, Marquette & Waushara Counties grow and serve more low-income families. These programs can vary from minor exterior repairs to critical home repairs. 1)Complete an organizational/community assessment. 2)Create a home repair/preservation proposal that addresses the needs of the local community and is sustainable for the affiliate. 3)Develop a plan to design and implement the repairs program. 4)Standardize the homeowner selection process. 5)Implement the Repairs Program to sustainably partner with more families to preserve their housing. 6)Write grant applications. 7)Implement systems to track the grant process and record project-related data. ** Interviews are done on a rolling basis.
