The mission of City Greens is to provide access to fresh, quality and affordable produce to neighbors, to promote healthy living in the community, and to provide space for members to interact. We believe we should have access to fresh fruits and vegetables here in our own neighborhood, Forest Park Southeast, so we source healthy, natural foods from local farmers and sell them at cost.

Member Duties : The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will build the capacity of City Greens Market by developing recruitment strategies and marketing materials that improve our ability to connect low-income residents of our “food desert” with healthy and affordable food. As a result of the VISTA member’s service, households living in poverty in our neighborhood, who are statistically much more likely to face diet-related health problems, will learn about and benefit from our market, garden, and the educational resources we provide. Through developing our outreach capacity, the VISTA member will build our organization’s long-term sustainability by building our membership and volunteer base.
