Associate, VISTA Horizons Student Enrichment KQA

Horizons of Kent and Queen Anne’s offers a six-week summer learning program focused on providing much needed enrichment opportunities for low income children to maintain and enhance their academic progress. We are entering into our 24th year of serving the needs of our rural community. Horizons of Kent and Queen Anne’s works with host schools (Kent School, The Gunston School, and Washington College) to offer “six-weeks of happiness” for PreK to grade 8 students during the summer and offers a high school mentoring program for alumni of the summer learning program. Horizons of Kent and Queen Anne’s employs a full-time Executive Director, a part-time Academic Director, and a part-time High School Mentoring Coordinator. The summer team is comprised of teachers, interns, assistants, reading specialists and site directors. Our VISTA will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure that the programs run smoothly, data is collected and analyzed to inform future projects, and that adequate funding is raised to support the good work of the organization.
