Keep America Beautiful Community Gardens VISTA
As a Keep America Beautiful (KAB) AmeriCorps VISTA member, you will act as a catalyst for change to help eradicate hunger in low-income communities. Whether in your hometown or across the country, this is a unique opportunity to refine and build upon your organizational and professional skills as well as serve a community for one year. The Keep America Beautiful VISTA project will place VISTAs in assignments to strengthen community gardens and urban farms in 10 communities located in the states of California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, and South Carolina. Don’t miss this opportunity to improve your life and the lives of fellow Americans by serving as a KAB AmeriCorps VISTA for one year. Member Duties : VISTA members will empower the community where they serve and build capacity through community garden and urban farming projects that may include activities such as: assessing community needs and strengths, developing outreach programs and marketing materials, building a social media presence, developing new funding streams, recruiting and training volunteers, and building community coalitions.
