Giving Hope Resource Development and Communications VISTA
 
 
 
Giving HOPE, Inc. (GHI) is a United Way Partner agency, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and a vital part of a network of agencies providing services for people who are currently or at risk of experiencing homelessness in Denton County for over 32 years. GHI is one of the eight Denton County front door agencies where people can access Coordinated Entry Services and quickly be referred to an appropriate housing intervention. The primary programs of GHI are Homelessness Prevention, Rapid Re-Housing, Transitional Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing and Street Outreach. With each program case-management and wrap around services are provided to ensure a path to housing stability. The clients served at GHI include families with children, veterans, people experiencing homelessness, and people who are living with mental health and other disabilities. The Resource Development and Communications VISTA will develop and implement a plan to increase and diversify funding sources to support programs and improve brand recognition among stakeholders, develop messaging platforms including social media, digital and print publications and establish funding opportunities and volunteer base to reach more individuals experiencing homelessness in the Denton, TX community. Giving Hope, Inc. is located in Denton, TX and is part of the VISTA North Texas Intermediary project sponsored by Chisholm Trail RSVP.

Member Duties : Giving Hope, Inc. assists the homeless or those at risk of becoming homeless find housing and services. The programs developed and enhanced by the VISTA will break the cycle of poverty by providing adequate shelter to those in need and assisting them with life skills to remain in that shelter. The Resource Development and Communications VISTA will build capacity in the following ways: • Develop and implement a plan to increase and diversify funding sources • Develop messaging platforms including social media, digital and print publications • Establish funding opportunities and a • Create and establish a volunteer program Applicants should possess good researching skills, strong verbal and writing communication skills, and computer skills.
