CAC AmeriCorps VISTA 2019-2020
CAC AmeriCorps has an open opportunity for an individual to spend a year of service with Wesley House, a non-profit located in Knoxville, TN that "...Develop[s] and maintain[s] the emotional, academic, and spiritual growth of children and families," in inner city Knoxville. The VISTA Member will help Wesley House Community increase its marketing and development efforts to continue to support our programming. The objective of this position is to increase the number of volunteers, constituents, donors, and supporters of Wesley House to help raise awareness of the services provided in our community. This will be done through a) volunteer outreach, b) mobilizing fundraising events, c) building a consistent marketing plan for social media and other media outlets, and d) implementing a consistent communication plan for new and existing donors. This position will provide the member with an opportunity to develop and execute procedures for public outreach and communication, increase aptitude in strategic planning and steps for implementation, and gain experience in program development.

Member Duties : CAC AmeriCorps’ VISTA program will engage 20 members, of all ages, supporting organizations focused on eliminating poverty in our region by removing barriers to employment, increasing access to healthy food, and lifting people out of poverty in partnerships with organizations like Goodwill Industries, Centro Hispano, Nourish Knoxville and Bridge Refugee Services.
