City of San Antonio- Youth Development Specialist

San Antonio has the highest percentage of “opportunity youth” compared to other metropolitan areas in Texas – the percentage of 16 to 24 year olds that are neither in school nor employed – and the fifth highest percentage out of the 25 largest cities in the United States. The goal is to reconnect youth to school and/or the workplace and decrease the number of opportunity youth in targeted areas. The VISTA will be a core member of the team dedicated to initiating operations within the Re-engagement Center during its first year as a City of San Antonio pilot initiative. The VISTA will seek additional resources for the development and expansion of services within the Re-engagement Center.
