Global Game Changers Educator Partner

Join an innovative afterschool model pairing an intensive service-learning curriculum, a community cultural partner, and a high needs school to change the outcomes for students. Help students learn to use philanthropy as a tool to enhance social-emotional competencies, develop character and leadership skills, and support academic outcomes. Hosted In-Residence at each community cultural partners site, this yearlong expanded learning program utilizes the Global Game Changers curriculum, community cultural partner exhibits and activities, fieldtrips and presentations by guest speakers, and opportunities for service to promote in-depth explorations into philanthropic causes, compassion, self-compassion, social skills, emotional regulation, and mindfulness for 50 elementary-aged students per day split between 3 classrooms. The program serves a total of 100 students from each partner school per year; 50 students attend Monday/Wednesday and 50 students attend Tuesday/Thursday. At the program’s culmination, students design and facilitate their own individual service projects, using his/her talent to serve the cause they he/she particular cares about. The In-Residence Expanded Learning Program is measured for its efficacy and impact through intentional evaluation protocol in partnership with the University of Louisville and Metro United Way.This program is provided at no cost to the students or their families.
