Volunteer Support- Natural Resource Management
 
 
 
Severson Dells Nature Center and the Forest Preserves of Winnebago County provide a wide range of programs and services for the community. Many of these programs are supported by a diverse cadre of volunteers that this position will help support. Member Position Description: · Responds to public inquiries regarding volunteer opportunities; · Assists in the tracking, recording and reporting of volunteer hours and activities; · Coordinates group volunteer events, such as R.E.A.P. Volunteer Workdays, corporate workdays, educational programs and special events (includes photographing volunteers); · Promotes FPWC’s volunteer program through public presentations, open houses, volunteer fairs and special events; · Assists in the development of recruitment materials such as flyers and brochures; assembles volunteer orientation materials ; · Responsible for posting volunteer opportunities on various volunteer recruitment sites; · Updates schedule of events and volunteer page of agency website; · Helps plan and coordinate annual Volunteer Appreciation event. Qualifications: · Some evenings and weekends are required (includes the 3rd Saturday of each month May through October from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. for R.E.A.P. Volunteer Workdays) · Must possess superb interpersonal and communication skills – customer service oriented · Ability to utilize software to create and manage volunteer records, flyers, brochures, etc. (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Publisher, WordPress, Volgistics) After successful completion of 675 hours, member will receive an education award of $2,255.24.Members will also receive $800 living allowance.
