AmeriCorps NCCC Traditional Corps - Fall 2019
AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) is a full-time, team-based residential service program for people ages 18-24. The mission of AmeriCorps NCCC is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service. Members are assigned to our regional campuses, located in Denver, CO; Sacramento, CA; Vinton, IA; and Vicksburg, MS. NCCC requires a 10-month commitment of its members, who serve on teams of 8-12 people. Teams are assigned to service projects throughout the region of their campus and can expect to complete between 4-6 projects during their term of service. Service projects are developed in conjunction with local sponsoring organizations and address critical needs in the areas of natural and other disasters, infrastructure improvement, environmental stewardship and conservation, energy conservation, and urban and rural development. NCCC's focus on responding to priorities in the area of natural and other disasters includes disaster preparedness, relief and recovery. Members can expect at least one of their projects to be in the area of natural and other disasters. These types of projects may be performed outside of a member’s assigned campus region. NCCC exceeds the responsibilities of a typical 9 to 5 job. A project sponsor may assign additional work, a member must complete additional Independent Service Project (ISP) hours, and members are required to participate in team activities, meetings and selected team role responsibilities. Due to the high level of responsibility, a member cannot engage in any outside activity (e.g., employment, classes, or personal volunteer opportunities) that either precludes, limits, or detracts from the member serving successfully. Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as selection is continuous and the class may fill before the application deadline. You can learn more about NCCC at and follow us on Facebook at
