Serve New York VISTA 2019-2020: FLACRA Data Specialist

Serve New York mobilizes AmeriCorps VISTA members to serve organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions focused on expanding educational opportunities, ensuring economic opportunity for all, and creating healthy futures for the residents of NY. The goal of Serve New York is to strengthen communities across the state and to allow organizations within them to better provide services to impoverished individuals and families. The Serve New York program has partner organizations in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Bath, Ithaca, Geneva, and White Plains. While serving, members receive support from the VISTA team at The Service Collaborative of WNY, Inc. The support includes monthly training, a social network of fellow members, and daily support from VISTA leaders.

Member Duties : The Finger Lakes Area Counseling and Recovery Agency, Inc. (FLACRA) believes in making a difference one life at a time. Our mission is to serve all those who come to us in need. The agency has a long history of providing innovative clinical, residential and housing treatment services. These services are for individuals experiencing alcohol and substance use disorders in the New York State Finger Lakes region for the past 40 years. The VISTA will develop and expand agency data tracking and training manual(s), tools to support financial literacy and financial resources among all FLACRA programs. This type of information is critical for agency staff to identify clients that are in financial distress and then assist with intervention early in their treatment program. The ability to sustain recovery is linked to financial stability.
