Mercy Corps Northwest, located in Portland, Oregon, is a Community Development Financial Institution that assists all low-income populations, including people of color, women, refugees and immigrants, incarcerated and previously incarcerated people in Oregon and Washington states by increasing their economic self-sufficiency and community integration through self-employment. The Online Education Associate will play a dynamic role in ending poverty, by building capacity within the MCNW Education Department and Women’s Business Center (WBC) to deliver small business training to rural and mobility-challenged entrepreneurs. As a VISTA you will be part of a cohort coordinated by Mercy Corps Northwest. Early applications strongly encouraged. Selections made on a rolling basis.

Member Duties : The Online Education Associate is a key member of the small business education team, building capacity within the MCNW Education Department and Women’s Business Center (WBC) to deliver small business training to rural and mobility-challenged entrepreneurs. Key focus areas include training and education, technology, stakeholder work and consensus building, and community outreach. The VISTA will help to develop and pilot an online education platform for use by the MCNW Business Development Services team. While the programs you will develop will endure for years, you will have limited direct interaction with our clients and be based in an office setting. Applicant should hold a four-year degree in community development, business administration, economics, education and/or a relevant field or four years of relevant work experience, or a combination thereof. Applicant should possess strong computer, communication, writing, and organizational skills.
