Wacif Research, Marketing & Communications VISTA
 
 
 
VISTA Strong Communities, a cohort overseen by the Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development, is seeking a VISTA candidate to serve at the Washington Area Community Investment Fund (Wacif: wacif.org). Wacif’s mission is to increase equity and economic opportunity in underserved communities in the Washington, DC area by investing knowledge, social, and financial capital in low-and moderate-income entrepreneurs. Wacif measures its success by loans deployed, assessment of quality advisory services provided to small business owners, and data assessment focused on overall impact such as increased household income, credit scoring, and asset building such as increase business revenues, jobs, and taxes. Taking into account the experience of the VISTA, the proposed project will build Wacif’s capacity to communicate its impact, address issues facing Washington area entrepreneurs,and engage new partners in advancing its mission of inclusive entrepreneurship, equitable economic development, and community wealth building. Member Duties : Market Analysis & Product/Program Development: The VISTA will conduct analysis and research critical to operational, programmatic, and lending operations, and be exposed to a range of issues affecting community and economic development, nonprofits, small business and lending; Impact Investment & Fundraising: The VISTA willsupport the advancement of Wacif’s impact investment program and fundraising efforts. The VISTA will work on strategies to communicate our impact on local neighborhoods and identify strategies to raise capital and development partnerships; Performance & Impact: The VISTA will lead a project to research and analyze the impact of Wacif’s 32 years of community investment in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The VISTA will conduct research and analyze impact of past real estate and affordable housing projects, small businesses, and other investments.
