College Health Corps Campus-based Positions 2019-2020

Low-income and first-generation college students face an array of barriers to achieving their educational goals such as access to health insurance, food security, safe housing, and child care. The mission of the College Health Corps is to help students stay in college and focus on their goals by providing and enhancing services that ease the burden of these challenges. VISTA members serving at college and universities promote health and educational equity through capacity building projects such as outreach, grant writing, partnership development, volunteer recruitment, and piloting new programs. Through partnerships with community- and campus-based services, members of both the college and the community work to reduce health disparities felt by low-income and first-generation college students. This program provides an excellent gap year experience for those interested in fields such as public health, higher education administration, medicine, and many more. The College Health Corps VISTA program is supported by Minnesota Campus Compact which supports civic engagement and democratic renewal through its diverse network of colleges and universities. *** Specific sites and positions will be announced on March 7, 2019 at http://mncampuscompact.org/what-we-do/initiatives/college-health-corps/. Submit an application now for an early screening interview, priority referrals, and to become a priority applicant to receive a preview of specific positions on March 5th. ***
