Employment Coordinator -The Arc Multnomah Co. (Portland, OR)

The Arc Multnomah Clackamas, located in Portland Oregon, provides advocacy, support, and services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our community is an urban area consisting of 3 counties; Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas. The VISTA member placed at our agency will assist in the development of our Donation Attendant Employment Program, which provides job readiness skills and job placement of Donation Attendants who receive donations from the public. AmeriCorps VISTA members perform only indirect service; interaction with clients will be limited and the member will spend the majority of his or her time in an office setting. The Employment Capacity Building Coordinator VISTA will play a dynamic role in ending poverty by developing a funding plan to develop training sites where the adults will receive “hands on” training. He or she will develop marketing and program materials including brochures, employment applications, and registration materials. They will create training curriculums for instructors, job coaches, and trainees. The member will develop an outcome-based work plan to train instructors and job coaches and create mentoring for the employee. Finally, the member will conduct the instructor and job coach training and oversee the adult with IDD training. As an Arc Multnomah Clackamas VISTA, they will be a part of a cohort coordinated by Mercy Corps Northwest. Early applications strongly encouraged. Selection made on a rolling basis.
