Communication and Resource Development VISTA-YWCA Glendale

YWCA Glendale's vision is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Our purpose is to ensure the health, safety, and economic empowerment of women, children and families, and to strengthen communities to prevent and break the cycle of domestic violence. YWCA Glendale provides resources and support to survivors of domestic violence and their children and through our education and prevention efforts we empower women, girls and families to build healthy relationships, achieve self-sufficiency, and live free from violence. We are seeking a VISTA member to help raise awareness of and raise funds for our programs. By August 19, 2019, the VISTA member will have identified potential donors and help establish systems to enable donor cultivation. By January 19, 2020, the VISTA member will have assessed the current state of fundraising data collection, resource library/archives, and report templates, create policies and procedures documents to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of the development and communication department.

Member Duties : By June 2020, (1) Create systems for major donor moves management and portfolios (2) Create a department wide calendar of stewardship activities (3) Refine schedule of stewardship activities (4) Create template cover letters for fundraising volunteers and donors (5) Research and expand list of in-kind donors (6) Research current systems and reporting needs: a) Review and become familiar with current database and processes for collecting data; b) review and become familiar with reporting needs throughout the year (7) Develop written procedures to document data entry best practices and define cross-department procedures (8) Create organized system of files for stories, photos, and other development files
