WU YWCA Northeast Kansas Marketing and Development VISTA
 
 
 
The YWCA Northeast Kansas Marketing and Development VISTA will increase public awareness about the YWCA mission of eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The VISTA will increase awareness of the YWCA educational, healthcare and justice programs to individuals and families in Shawnee, Jackson and Wabaunsee Counties in Kansas. As a result of the poverty issues identified in the Momentum 2022 plan, this VISTA will build the capacity of the YWCA addressing poverty issues impacting more than one-in-five area children – living below the poverty line. The goal is to create a system to collect, save and track data for future grant opportunities and give a voice to individuals and families.

Member Duties : As a YWCA Northeast Kansas VISTA you will increase the organizational sustainability of a regional nonprofit by writing YWCA stories and developing multi-media content. VISTA objectives include: (1) Increasing public awareness of the YWCA's mission and programs; (2) Continuing to develop, hone, and disseminate brand identity throughout the community to reach new audiences in order to increase our visibility; (3) Creating processes and streamlining administrative aspects of development activities including donor and public relations, direct mail appeals, and special events; (4) Organizing a continuous quality improvement process to capture best practices for tracking donor prospects, and (5) Producing quality reports that can be used on social media, traditional media, as well as complied for federal reporting requirements which demonstrate the anti-poverty and capacity building work being accomplished during your service term.
