PHENND Fellows - VISTA Leader

Lead a cohort that works to strengthen communication, collaboration and community in Philadelphia. This VISTA leader will support AmeriCorps VISTAs who serve in a variety of school based, school district based, and non profit sites throughout Philadelphia. PHENND (The Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development) is a 30-year-old consortium of over 25 colleges and universities in the Greater Philadelphia region. The consortium actively seeks to revitalize local communities and promote civic responsibility through service learning among the region's higher education institutions. As part of our K-16 Partnerships Network, the PHENND VISTA project represents a seventh year of partnership with the School District of Philadelphia to expand the infrastructure for community partnership development across Philadelphia. The PHENND VISTA project also includes a multi-year relationship with a number of non-profits throughout the city in realms of education, health, law, and community development. In addition to supporting the cohort through the successful completion of their VADs, this leader will promote the sustainability of the PHENND VISTA project by working on recruitment, alumni engagement, inter-cohort communication, supplementary events, and possibly workshops and training REQUIRED: One year of previous AmeriCorps or Peace Corps experience.
