SEEDS Youth Education and Empowerment VISTA

SEEDS is a hands-on program. We like to say that our name stands for: Saving Everything Eventually by Doing Stuff! SEEDS K12 programs help the next generation take on positive leadership roles. Our programs support our partner school's efforts to get students to graduate on time by providing academic and cultural enrichment. We focus especially on getting kids engaged in Food Systems (obesity prevention), Energy & Waste Management (Green Teams), Creative Expression (music, art) and Getting Outside (battling nature deficit disorder) through both in school and after school programs. The SEEDS Youth Conservation Corps is a workforce development program that jump starts careers through on-the-job service learning. Corps members work in ‘green collar’ industries like land management, green construction, energy efficiency, organic agriculture and more. Graduates learn the value of teamwork, reinforcement of positive behavior and other life skills. They earn scholarships and valuable job credentials. SEEDS administrative backbone supports these programs through volunteer management, partner cultivation, fundraising, and the systems that maintain accountability. You can specialize or generalize at SEEDS. We aim to hold space to help you engage where you are most passionate!
