Family Service Direct Marketing and Development

Do you want to help break the stigma of mental health and how it disproportionately affects people living in poverty? Join Family Service of Roanoke Valley, an organization that transforms lives by healing trauma and restoring hope to families and individuals of all ages through mental health counseling, case management and life skills education. Since 1901, we have been serving the people of Roanoke, VA, responding to community needs in creative and innovative ways. Today, we sit at the center of our community’s human service landscape, and are committed to leading the way in addressing capacity needs among mental health care providers. Roanoke is surrounded by the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains, and is a thriving and caring community, with lots of outdoor recreation and diverse community experiences, arts and culture and young professional groups. Family Service is seeking a motivated young professional to jump in and put their own mark on direct marketing and community relations efforts. We are looking for a self-starter who wants to add projects and products to his/her portfolio and to make a true difference in our community. You will work hand-in-hand with organization leaders to research and develop materials, meet community partners and identify opportunities to connect people to resources. You will have the opportunity to meet community leaders and participate in networking and training. You will learn programs and applications used for e-marketing, website design, social media, market research and asset mapping. You will be engaged in grassroots work and gain experience in non-profit management. The assignment begins July 6, 2020 and ends July 5, 2021. You will be placed full-time for the assignment, but are allowed to work another job during off hours. Contact Jill Sluss at 540-795-4671 or jsluss@fsrv.org. Learn more at www.fsrv.org.
