CMHA/HIPPY
 
 
 
CMHA has been sponsoring the HIPPY program for 15 years. VISTA members facilitate the implementantion of the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program. HIPPY is a parent involvement and school readiness program for children 3 - 5 years old. The HIPPY model consists of a 30 week curriculum, group meetings and role play. The weekly role play of the curriculum with the parents is the key to the programs success. Parents are their children's first and primary teachers. VISTA members are involved in every aspect of the program including: volunteer and family recruitment, planning group meetings, field trips, the annual promotion and recognition cermony for program participants, securing speakers, marketing and public relations.
