LCCT: House of Neighborly Service Program Dev. Specialist

House of Neighborly Service's mission is to provide opportunities which encourage, educate, and empower San Antonio’s Westside community. We were founded in 1917 and are honored to have been a part of the Westside for over 100 years. Today, we serve over 1,000 people each year in four program areas: 1. Family Support: HNS prevents child abuse and neglect and supports caretakers experiencing depression. We serve over 200 families each year through our parenting education, case management, and Respite Program. 2. Child Development: Our Kid’s Place Child Development and Treatment Center improves the social-emotional, intellectual, and physical development of children enrolled in its multi-age classes. We currently have 35 slots for children aged 18 months to 5 years and are one of a few agencies in the area equipped to provide therapeutic interventions for children with special needs. 3. Senior Health: We provide the seniors of our community with nutritional meals and meaningful activities to promote their physical and mental health. We provide over 500 hours of activities each year. 4. Food Security: We help our neighbors put food on their tables through our weekly Breadline and Emergency Food Pantry. We distribute over 6,000 boxes of food annually.
